What a world.
Guys. Just FYI, apparently the current ~cool~ thing on Instagram is sweet potato TOAST.
It's been around for a while now, but health bloggers and general food-lovers have recently really started getting into it, with some insanely delicious-looking toppings.

The idea is that you thinly slice a sweet potato and whack it in the toaster until it's warm and cooked the whole way through. Then top it with whatever you want.
You can find a more detailed recipe here. It sounds suspiciously easy, right? I decided to give it a go, because how hard can it really be?

OK, well it turns out it was actually kind of hard to slice the potato evenly.
Idk maybe it was just me and my wonky cutting, but I could not for the life of me cut straight slices. I also spent the whole time being certain that I was about to slice off a finger.

The idea is to put your toaster on the highest setting, and toast the slices twice.
This is how I learned that the thickness of the toast really does matter. It should be about a quarter of an inch thick, or just over half a centimeter. Too thin and it'll burn, too thick, and it won't cook all the way through and be cold and crunchy.
