But some might say there's another type of cuisine — Filipino food — that hasn't quite reached the same level of ubiquity.

According to TV show host and tattoo enthusiast Anthony Bourdain, one dish is about to change that.

It's called sisig, and in a recently-aired interview with CNN Philippines, Bourdain says it's poised to become your new favorite food.
"[This dish] is the most likely to convince people who have had no exposure to Filipino food — which American palettes are just now starting to become seriously interested in and embrace and investigate and learn — to look further beyond sisig."
