Spring is…here?
It's now officially Spring (unless you live on the East Coast in which case there's snow EVERYWHERE), so naturally Starbucks has a new Frappuccino to go with the season.

From today until March 26 —in the U.S., Canada and Mexico— Starbucks is offering a Crystal Ball Frappuccino, that will allegedly tell your fortune. 🔮
In New York my Frapp retailed for $5.75+ tax, which isn't necessarily cheap.
Browsing through Instagram, most of the Crystal Ball Frapps looked exactly like the pictures Starbucks was using...
So I arrived to Starbucks bright and early and ordered my Crystal Ball Frappuccino. I was super excited because I thought it would be super colorful and the peach-vanilla flavors sounded intriguing.

But when I got mine...I was disappointed.
I asked the Barista before she made my Frapp if it was possible for it to look exactly like it did in the picture. She informed me that I was the first Crystal Ball Frapp of the day. I asked if there was someone who was better trained because she didn't seem that confident, but she proceeded to follow the instructions on a Starbucks handout that I assume all the employees were given. I watched as she made it and got super disappointed as the turquoise syrup gathered at the bottom of the cup.

So even though mine didn't look like the pictures, I thought that it tasted pretty good.
My favorite part was the blue sprinkles which gave a nice crunch with each sip. The peach flavor was great but mainly because I love peach flavored things. Because the syrup gathered at the bottom, once I shook the cup the flavors were better distributed, but I’d get a blast of sugar, then vanilla, and finally peach.
While I didn't take the "fortune" aspect of the drink too seriously, it was still kind of fun to start your day with some positive vibes in the form of adventure according to my blue sprinkles.
Overall I'd give this Frapp a 3/5 and maybe next time I'd go to a different location so that I could get a drink more closely aligned with Starbucks' marketing.
And so you don't just have to take my word for it, I asked my colleague Michelle what she thought of it:
Michelle: I'm TORN about this. It tastes exactly like a decaf Vanilla Bean Frappuccino. Which, because I'm a basic bee, I truthfully dig. But I'm a millennial who eats rainbow bagels for breakfast and sushi burritos for lunch, and was expecting something more. I mean, the blue crystals did add a nice lil crunch but TBCH I could have dumped half a packet of raw brown sugar and called it a day. I hate to say this, but can we get the unicorn frap back? Step it up, Starbucks!!

TL;DR: This ain't no Unicorn but if you like a candy crunch and peach flavor, then you're ~destined~ to love this one too. But here's my reality versus expectations...🤔
